    REVIEW: ACEBEAM TK16

I recently picked up one of these amazing little lights, a TK16 AL. It is an excellent EDC light and I've been switching it out between the Olight S1R Baton 2. I like the brightness, interface, and controls o the Acebeam TK16 AL better then the Olight. But I like the easily accessed battery...

    Flashlight VS. Headlamp For Backpacking

I'll buck the trend and suggest a small flashlight like the Olight S1R Baton 2 or Acebeam TK16 AL. Both can also be clipped to the brim of a hat to use as a headlamp.

Acebeam new LEP W30 2408m throw flashlight now presenting

Impressive! I was about to order the Acebeam X65-Mini, but now I might pick up this beast instead.

    Acebeam X65 MINI

Looks like they took the body of the X80 and matted it to the head of the X65. AWESOME! From their website: 12,000 Lumens 492,000 Candela - 1403 meters throw http://www.acebeam.com/x65-mini

Most reliable: Fenix, Nitecore, Olight, or other?

I have many flashlights from Surefire, Fenix, 4Sevens, Eagletac, and OLight among others. The most reliable have been the Surefires. Second would be the Eagletac and then OLight. I've had issues with a couple of my Fenix lights and with the 4Seven Quark.

    Ultralight or Lightweight Neutral 1AA

How about the Olight S1A Baton? Weight is 1.2oz and that can be reduced further by removing the magnet in the tailcap.

Eagletac D25A alternatives or protected 14500's that work? Eagletac 14500's suck...

I've been EDC'ing a Eagletac D25a Clicky for a couple of years now. I've been using Ultrafire protected 14500s and they work great in it. I have a higher turbo mode while still retaining the low modes. Heck, I like it so much a purchased a couple for a relative and another couple for myself.

    How do you EDC?

Well I've EDC'd a knife along with a flashlight for a couple of decades now. I always have my keys when I'm not at home & there is a Photon II on them. I also have a Eagletac D25a Clicky clipped to my front left pocket whenever I'm wearing pants (which is everyday I go outside). My cellphone...

    18350-sized lights make perfect EDCs?

A 18350 powered light Does Not make much sense for an EDC at this point in time IMHO. I only EDC lights that use a battery type that I know will be easy to find in an emergency. That is why I mostly EDC lights powered by AA/14500 batteries. I infrequently also carry CR123 powered lights much...

AA Lithium batteries in LED lights?

Yup. It is for these reasons that I've replaced all of my alkaline batteries with lithium's. No worries about them leaking after long periods of disuse.

How large a light do you EDC?

Regardless of what kind of pants I'm wearing, I EDC my Eagletac D25a Clicky. I also have a Photon II on my keychain that is always in a pocket.

    Best EDC flashlight!

+1 Love my regular Eagletac D25a Clicky along with the Titanium version. Runs great on AA or 14500.

    Eagletac Reliability?

I've had several Fenix lights including a TK25 and LD10. They were okay overall but the LD10 started malfunctioning and couldn't be trusted so it stopped being my EDC light. The Eagletac D25a Click that replaced it has been awesome so far. I also have an older Quark AA which is still a very...

More new 2015 Eagletac models with the dual button UI and built in diffuser!

Re: More new Eagletacs with the new dual button UI and the built in diffuser! Several of these look VERY tempting indeed. :grin2:

    Eagletac Reliability?

I've been EDC'ing an Eagletac D25a Clicky for several months and it has been great. I like it so much that I've purchased 2 for a relative (regular and titanium) along with a couple more as backups for myself (in case I misplace or lose one).
