Primaries are nonsense in situations where 18650s are used. And because there are probably around 1000 (if...) people in the world that would want primary 18650s, versus milions of those who want li-ion, primaries would cost quite a few times more than rechargeables.
The question is about as...
I finnally got this thing after god knows how long. :) Love the design. Finish is nice, didn't notice any scratches or dents. Threads aren't as smooth as i'd like them to be, must grease em up a bit. Nice wide beam, but not pure flood. I'd put up some beamshots, but my camera is broken.

Far from it. :] For no modes you could get the 1 mode version that actually can take 2x 16340s :D Still haven't received mine tho. They packed it and sent it out in 2 days, but those Chinese always mess with me, so it took them like 10 days at the HKP to ship out :)
Nitro methane or gasoline? - That is what you are asking. :D
And the answer is- go for nitro methane in a top fuel dragster. And for gasoline in a normal car.
Different flashlights perform differently with different chemistries. (makes sense? :D)... Some are designed to take both, some will...
I am tempted to buy a nice generator and hook it up with the house wiring in case of longer black outs. We had two short ones, but with the low temps it sucks not being able to use the cetral heating, because the pump isn't working. We do have a wood stove in one floor tho so we won't freeze...
Eh, over here in europe they are banning incans. :] No more 100 Watters (or more) for us. And every few years they are gonna turn the ban up a notch, so soon there will be more or less no incans left. :shakehead
We use CFLs mostly, but weather smart-asses like it or not, there are aplications...
I also think that lithium is going to be the only way here for improvement. Cramming 6 AAAAs sucks for capacity. You will be able to charge lipos faster and they should last longer because of only 2 cells.
And if you can manage an external battery pack, then you would probably be set for 2...
I don't have either, but i do understand both. Its the same thing.
The reason i don't own any expensive knives or flashlights is because i can't afford to loose them. And the cheaper stuff does the job done, as long as you do your research and know the limits of your tools. :]
So a 20$ swiss...
