Lorsund reflector retaining nut impossible to remove?

Well, I've tried my sturdy screwdrivers as well, but just wouldn't come out. I was thinking of using snap ring pliers only I don't have any right now. Maybe it's time to buy some tools... :)

What's the tint like on your Cree/Seoul emitters?

The SSC USW0 I got from DX is a very nice, clean, snowish white, maybe leaning a bit towards daylight white but the most comfortable tint I have, indoors or outdoors. The SSC on the Ministar5 is very close in tint to the one I got from DX. Every Cree I own, however, has a slight greenish tint...

Lorsund reflector retaining nut impossible to remove?

Hey all. Started working on one of my Lorsunds... the one I have, not the ones in the mail :) I can't seem to get the reflector retaining nut off. I could fairly easily with my Elly, but not a budge at all with this beast. Was yours easy to take off? If not, how did you do it? I fabricated a...

how much volt does an optical mouse LED use?

Actually, most old ball mice were optical in nature - the ball moved a horizontal and vertical bar, which had slotted wheels at the ends. Between these were a light source and a receptor - when the mouse was moved, this would cause the slotted wheel to turn, cutting off then allowing the light...

New Thread on Kai 3W Cree (Elly--Elite)

Yapo, it is just a turn-on voltage, not a cutoff. If you are running the light and it falls below this threshhold, it will continue to run - but if you power cycle, the light will not turn on. The reason why (and a fix) can be found at...

$9.99 CREE P4 AA @ DX, alum. ref, steel body, plas len

You answered my question in your own question - it isn't a quick process; therefore, the savings aren't worth the time I have to wait, especially considering the quality. Yeah, the wait might be temporary, and the 'savings' per se might be what prevails, but for the build quality... you get what...

$9.99 CREE P4 AA @ DX, alum. ref, steel body, plas len

I *still* haven't received mine. Should be in any time though (I hope) - supposedly it shipped some time ago. My second order, though... no word at all on that one. I will check in a bit and hopefully everything will be marked as Shipped. I probably won't order from DX again.

Which is brightest, Fenix L1D or creed Elly?

They are. I have a Seoul'd Elly, and it isn't quite as bright as my L2D-CE, but close. Not bad for having runtime 2/3 of the 2AA L2D-CE on Turbo. My Cree'd Ellys are still in the mail (or haven't even got that far yet).

$9.99 CREE P4 AA @ DX, alum. ref, steel body, plas len

Some Ellys will turn on at 0.9v or so, others all the way above 1.3v. There is a fix to let it turn on at ~0.7v or so at this post: http://candlepowerforums.com/vb/showpost.php?p=1899558&postcount=501 Of course, for stock, it just depends on if you're lucky. I have an Elly that has only been...

Anyone get their TerraLUX MiniStar5 SSC P4 U bin LED upgrade for 3-6 cell Maglites?

Re: Anyone get their TerraLUX MiniStar5 SSC P4 U bin LED upgrade for 3-6 cell Maglites? Thanks, MattK - while mine is working after rigging it with foil and flattening the bottom as I described in my post, out of four other TerraLux products I own, this is currently my only working one...

    LED clearance at target

Each store is different. One store near me was cleaned out, the other had Inova 2AA for $14, 2C for $20, and the copper maglite keychain was $4. I haven't gone in a while - with good reason, I am out of money! :D

    $6.25 Elly 1 Watt has boost/regulated 2h 40m!

The Elly is PFM, so yes, your output is pulsed and the meter is just too slow to see this. :)

Dealextreme 1.25 Watt Cree 1 AA Flashlight **Now with beamshots** Test Complete.

Wow, fix your hot pixels in those shots! :) As much as I don't want to spend any MORE on lights (I have a few on order, mostly from DX), I'll probably pick up a couple of these from DX based on your information. Thank you.

Anyone get their TerraLUX MiniStar5 SSC P4 U bin LED upgrade for 3-6 cell Maglites?

Mine appeared DOA as well - I had to put a small amount of aluminum foil in the empty space between the threading and the base, as well as flatten the bottom positive terminal for mine to work. I didn't get any flashes when hitting the switch, by the way - my flashes would occur when screwing...
