Scotch Tape Emitter, cool tint or X-ray

You get the same effect from a bandaid or socks. Socks are more fun because you can do them over and over again. Also, try cracking an old fashioned plastic ice tray in the dark. All this is static discharge. One note, do these party tricks in the dark or in very dim light. Wait for your...

    Greenforce Flex 2 Battery Replacement

IF indeed the top twists off, I recommend a strap wrench. You can get them from Sears in the tool department. They consist of a plastic handle and an anchored rubber strap. Depending on which direction you intend to turn the top, you wrap the rubber strap around it and lock it in the handle...

Darrell Allen vintage dive light resto

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hiddivelights/photos/album/1661131086/pic/list ...has a nice 2006 resto-mod of the kind of light you are talking about. I don't think you will be able to see it without becoming a member of the group. There is some good info on there as well. There are lots of...

    Mounting a Switch... unique problem.

Try a magnetic switch with a solid state relay. You can mount the "trigger" on the outside not requiring a thread or penetration. The switch can be internal with all the wiring in the housing.

    PVC for canisters

Find a construction site and casually stroll on there and ask one of the workers for cut-offs. I do not recommend sneaking in during the dead of night. These guys seem rough and tumble, but most would love to help you out with a free piece of scrap. Their scrap is usually wonderful stuff in...

Designing a focusable LED dive light.

This thread has gone bonkers. It is no longer a focusable LED dive light thread.

    D6(900/700)-R-2×18650 LED Diving Flashlight

Whitenoise has it backwards. edi-t makes it for Oxycheq. Edi-t is a Chinese manufacturer. They will make you a batch too with Whitenoise as the 'maker' if you like.

Access to leds in Seac-sub X-Led?

If you're a purist, replace the lens. Check with McMaster Carr under borosilicate discs. Match your thickness and diameter. I don't know about them shipping to UK, but I am sure they can. If you are not a purist, consider this: only one side of the lens seals. If one side is smooth press it...

Salvo switch thread tapping. Need help?

Gav: there is a Yahoo forum that has lots of info on HID dive lights. Almost all of the information directly translates to LEDs. Sign up for that blog, and look for info on driving the piezoelectric switch. I have successfully made reed switches from a schematic on that site. I built a...

Salvo switch thread tapping. Need help?

Gav: I am pretty sure you do not need to thread the hole....almost certain. I am certain you do not need a keyway. moreover, most companies recess the switch housing into the lid of the canister so it is not possible to screw in the switch. The recess also keeps the switch in position as...

Salvo switch thread tapping. Need help?

http://www.kasthurimmc.com/tap-drill-chart.html If you are threading in aluminum, you'll want to get some tap cutting oil. I like tap-magic. If you are cutting in acetal or delrin, you will not need the lubricant. If the tap has a nice taper, you'll have to so something spectacularly stupid...

Salvo switch thread tapping. Need help?

Would love to help, but: Nobody threads a keyed hole (on purpose.) Most Salvos I have seen use a toggle switch and a boot. Can you provide a picture?

    Starter Projects

There is also a good bit to be gleaned from those folks that build/modify bike lights. Bike lights are very similar to dive lights in many regards. They don't need to resist pressure and water, but otherwise similar.
