    Wife finally sees the light!

I have to totally honor any commitment I make not to buy something. My wife takes an unusually keen interest in my hobbies - not the substance of the hobby, but in memorizing every item I obtain! lol

    Wife finally sees the light!

First of all, howdy folks! I've not posted for somewhere near a year now. In part due to being quite busy and in part due to promising my wife nearly a year ago that I would not buy another light until after Christmas 2012... lol. And I kept my bargain! But I posted to comment that I recently...

    Anyone exhausted an LED life?

Interesting to know that flashlight LED's will dim with use rather than just go :poof: at the end of their useful life. @HighlanderNorth - please post up with results. I will be waiting.

    Anyone exhausted an LED life?

Just curious, with 10's of thousands of hours in life expectancy, has anyone yet actually "used up" an LED in their flashlight? Or should we ask again in another 20 or 30 years? And I mean through essentially ordinary use - perhaps involving a LOT of use yes, but you get the idea.

Am I the only one who keeps being linked to this dumb light on youtube?

If I may toss in a youtube link to a video that is similar in its "strangeness" - The MagLite Burner! And BTW - That 500 LED monstrosity shows up in my youtube searches quite a lot too!

    Flood monster...all comers

I have to second the Zebralight SC600 mention as a wall of light flooder!

    Crelant 7G5 V2 (XM-L U2, 1x/2x18650) Thrower Review: RUNTIMES, VIDEO, BEAMSHOTS+

The real winner is the light that enables its master to read the following chart through and including the bottom line at 400 meters: :naughty:

CR123a Delrin Waterproof Spare Battery Carrier

Got my CR123 carrier today! Very nice. Extremely well machined. Love the delrin material. Some kind of thermoplastic stuff. It was referred to as "self lubricating" - no wonder the darn thing keeps slipping out of my hand... lol. But I really like it! Like others have said, the lid really...

Why are flashlights so interesting? Why are LED flashlights a hobby?

Brewing beer is a great hobby! I haven't done it in years, but I suspect I will again. Also, how about "things that go fast"! Might not mix too well with the beer and wine, but still.....

    Crelant V9-T6 Review (XM-L T6 | 1 x 18650 / 2 x CR123A)

As for the bezel, I have been curious about the bezel on my 7G5-V2 as well as other Crelant lights that I will want down the road. I have always found it odd that there is no mention of the bezel material on the Crelant website. So I emailed Crelant today from the email address on their website...

CR123a Delrin Waterproof Spare Battery Carrier

And not to mention that this capsule will preserve a CR123 in a fresher state far longer than storing one underneath a pyramid. (okay... the corn in me has to come out sometimes :grin2:)

    Flashlight Explosion

Very sorry to hear anything like this. I hope any illness from this passes quickly.

    Test/Review of Keeppower 18650 3100mAh (Black)

Okay - thanks. The "wire" is what I noticed then. So while it might be optimal to minimize battery thickness by having it beside the label, as long as there are no issues with fit otherwise, the function of the protection remains the same (under, beside or on top of the label)?

Why are flashlights so interesting? Why are LED flashlights a hobby?

Flashlights, like anything technological or mechanical that puts the powers of nature in the palms of our hands, become magic to us. Mankind is fascinated by most anything magical. A plunger doesn't give us any real power that we couldn't already manage with just our bare hands.
