    You are jumping to conclusion. I am not defending any particular seller here and please read properly. All I am trying to say before more players came on stream, most of the people here have not much choice beside AW ones.

    Prior to the offerings from Eagletac, Redilast, Fenix and etc offering protected 18650, what other choice do we have besides those China made xxxxFire? I am not defending any sellers here but AW is the only one here selling protected cells back then and stand by his product.

    Quality cells duopoly command some premiums...as more players coming on stream with equal or acceptable quality, we can see some price competition.

    There are a few sellers in Ebay too that is doing the same for Sanyo and Panasonic cells too...but I think these cells are not capable of 5A discharge.

    Do you really need such high power charger and do you need usb output graph? Else just get a smaller charger will do the trick as well.

    You seldom go wrong with single cell charging unless you choose the wrong current for single cell charging :oops:. If you have multiple same cells, then it would be faster charging in series with balancing.

    Lets be fair. Since when budget will give you quality when OP states he is all for quality? 18650 cells are not even sold to end user in the first place. Those xxfires cells are Chinese factories made cells and lapped with a protection circuit. As for AW and Redilast(sp?) are sold using cells...

    Re: RediLast 2900, AW 2600, AW 2900 Battery Unwrapping I think AW has the most layers of protection in the negative end. A red gasket, round rubber like (?) that cover entire pcb and the kapton tape cover the entire length of the negative strip.

    LiFEPo4 should be 3.6v??:confused: And I hardly sees anything higher than 0.7C for LiCo cylindrical type.
