The Fenix TK45 "Gatling chain-light".

It was a fun gimmicky form factor, especially the "cycling" emitters when you used Eco mode.

The handle size would fit a 46800 battery with barely any modifications. With a high-power emitter like the SFT60 or LHP531 or even SFT-42R, it could have so much power output and simple fidget potential.

8xaa in a carrier. I have a tk41, the single xml/reflector version
I had a Fenix like that — I’m not sure what the number was (TKXX) but it was an 8xAA driving a single MCE quad-die in a big shallow reflector. A terrific light for its time (2008?), but the 8xAA format is not as good as a single hi-capacity Li-ion.

Oveready. Particularly the older stuff.

I think that one was the predecessor to the 41, the tk40. IMO, the TK40 has WAY better styling including the knurling, and general rugged feel.

Specifically speaking, SureFire Digital 2 Ultra (U2).
But fixed! None of that DOA nonsense!
None of that "Worked fine for a few days, but now won't work at all." $#&%!
SureFire never fixed it! They just discontinued the model.
Also it was decades ahead of its time! Bring it back, fixed!
Increase the spacing. One lumen, up to 1200 lumens out the front.

Fenix has such a model. But it's bulky, and lacks a tailcap switch. Twist only.
They redesigned it awhile ago, but still no tailcapswitch.

Bring back the U2 but make it better, and make it WORK!!!
Well, at least they continue to produce Dominator))

From a technical standpoint, I don't think it's difficult. Take the EDC DFT2 and place a ring with a regulator between the head and the body. an extra inch of length won't ruin it

I would be happy if they suddenly released E2l AA again, or something with 2 AA, can be with a wide beam MW

The irony? I got sick & tired of waiting! Not getting any younger. After putting it off for years, finally pulled the trigger on that Fenix model I mentioned earlier in this topic. SureFire isn't releasing a modern-day U2, and Fenix has clearly no desire to toss a tailcap switch onto their version.

No, no irony. In any case, after a bunch of letters and a video from my friend, where he disassembled the Dominator battery pack, after about 5 years, they finally updated it - they put normal 26650 and SBT90 inside instead of the somewhat outdated CBT90. Perhaps we should periodically write to SF tech support about the new generation of U2, like U2X or U2T or some cool abbreviated name. But without the goodwill of their leadership, a good outcome is unlikely((

Fenix TK76 + battery extenders ("AER-TK75 extended runtime kit").
...I thought I had added photos here, but apparently I forgot about it. Well, here they are:

IMG_5749_58.jpgIMG_5754_37.jpgIMG_5756_37.jpg
Fenix TK76 with 3 battery carriers and 12x 18650 (Panasonic NCR18650B), plus TK75 2018 also with with 3 carriers and 12x 18650 (Nitecore HP1835HP).
Getting 12x 18650 cells on the TK76 was a no-brainer, but getting the last 2 carriers for the much brighter (but much less fun) TK75 was harder.

I nagged and nagged, and finally a good friend of mine and fellow flashaholic finally relented, and sold me back his 2018 (I bought one for each of us, with an extra carrier, years ago), and also sold me his TK75 2015 I got him a Fenix LR80R instead - and I haven't heard a word of regret on his part. ^^

But that TK75 ended up by far being the most expensive light I own. Basically 2x TK75 2018, + 2015 model, plus 12x Nitecore 18650 HP cells...for the same amount in total I could have bought an Imalent MS18, or a pair of Acebeam K75 v2, or twelve Convoy 3X21A.

...Basically, my TK75 is a ~650 USD flashlight.
If the runtimes are accurate, it can do 2000 Lumen (High) for 9 hours. Or 90 Lumen (Low) for 285 hours.

Ah, yes, the "gatling gun"-light. You got good taste, my good sir (well, I already knew you had that). 😃
The barrel cycling really threw me off first time (and second time) I played around with Eco mode - now THAT would be a strobe mode I would approve of! Automatically "muzzle flashing" from each barrel in a rotation!

Been trying to get one from Ebay, but they are rare and when there is one ut there, it has not been worth the asking price.
Glad I snagged a pair while it still was avalable, it really is a unique design, and I would say a spiritual predecessor to the later TK76.

EDIT:
To prove my point, here actually is one on Ebay:

"Fenix TK45 - Used. 299,99 USD."

It's sad that it has been many long years since Fenix came out with anything innovative or new. Yes, a couple of new models here and there. But almost zero improvements to older, existing lights.
I think many of Fenix's customers have discovered their less than satisfactory customer service and have opted to go in other directions. I know they will never see another dime from me again.

And I will argue that more features on an existing or new model is not necessarily an improvement. It's mostly just been brighter, more powerful units of their existing lights. No interesting or special designs - like the TK-models of old. I look at the current TK-series (15 lights), and I can't tell the difference between any of them at a glance (except maybe the TK28R). The TK45 / TK76 were both arguably headturners in comparison.

Though the recently released LD36R was something surprisingly funny from Fenix. If I find the red and blue "Flame Camo" body colour version as an outlet or discounted unit, I will buy it just for the uniqueness of it. 170 USD equivalent retail (Black and Flame Camo), and there is a discounted Black one for ~95 USD.

Words like "Neon Purple" and "Twilight Pink" isn't usually what I would associate with Fenix, but with the LD36R, I can. 🙂
