Recharging Energizer Ultimate Lithiums - Controlled experiments

The members who do not have any constructive posts should not waste their time and the OPs by writing on this topic. It has been said that there are safety issues and no useful information can come out of it so stop repeating the same things. The OP agrees with the safety issues and clearly...

    Sony NP-F570 Pinout

The thing is I have another charger that came with these batteries and it has only two pins + and -. I have used this many times to charge my original Sony battery without any issues, so I think I can charge them also with my hobby charger. At least I can charge the "no names". I will come back...

    Sony NP-F570 Pinout

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I have two additional "no name" batteries replacements for NP-F750 and I wanted to charge and then discharge them using my hobby charger to see the exact capacity. I was concerned not to unbalance the cells (which seem, by the size of the battery, to be...

    Sony NP-F570 Pinout

I am trying to find out what is the middle contact pad used for but I have been without success. In the attached picture, from left to right, is the positive terminal, "C" labelled contact pad and negative terminal. Measuring the voltage between the negative and the positive I get 3.58V when the...

    ZL SC600 TURBO MODE TEMPERATURE

I am lucky enough to have in my company a Fluke Ti25 (entry level thermal imager). We use it for testing the connections in our electrical cabinets. When I have some spare time, I use it for my hobbies, and in this case I was curious to see if Cataract was right. I had a hunch, but one idea was...

    ZL SC600 TURBO MODE TEMPERATURE

I've run the light to step down a few time, mostly on a walk, and the temperature is noticeable but not uncomfortable. If you leave light on a table and pick it up on the 5 minute mark then it will get very hot. I agree that holding it in your hand considerably lowers the temperature and it...

Zebralight SC600 Hotspot issue - Homemade solution inside

Re: Zebralight SC600 Hotspot issue I made them on a lathing machine. But, if you don't have the possibility of making custom washers, you can go with this method: By wrapping a small gauge wire around the reflector. I have found that a PC fan wire is good enough.

Zebralight SC600 Hotspot issue - Homemade solution inside

Re: Zebralight SC600 Hotspot issue OK, had some spare time and made some brass o-rings. I then put them underneath the reflector and lifted it about 0.8mm (0.5 wasn't enough). Here is the result: comparing with: The only small problem is that the head screw is 0.8mm higher and the...

Zebralight SC600 Hotspot issue - Homemade solution inside

Re: Zebralight SC600 Hotspot issue Sorry to hear that you have the same problem. If you look at the first picture in this post http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?335287-Zebralight-SC600-Hotspot-issue&p=3903252&viewfull=1#post3903252 you can see that the lower part of the...

Zebralight SC600 Hotspot issue - Homemade solution inside

Re: Zebralight SC600 Hotspot issue It takes some force because the head has its threads glued, but it can be done by hand. I don't think you can break it as long as you do it by hand and keep the force only on the metallic parts, not the glass or anything else.

Magnet in postive end of 18650

I am using nickel plated neodymium magnets for charging my 18650s with a hobby charger. Just be careful that small shocks and impacts will chip away the plating.

Zebralight SC600 Hotspot issue - Homemade solution inside

Re: Zebralight SC600 Hotspot issue Unfortunately the story continues. After returning the bad hot spot SC600, the dealer took the time to test the one he would send me. He then informed me that out of 7 tested SC600 he sent me the one with the best hot spot. I didn't quite understand the...

    Pila Charger Voltage Questions?

Re: Why Does My PILA only Charge to 4.17 volts? It's a pity that you haven't read the posts above you. The conclusion will be that PILA doesn't have to do squat.

    Pila Charger Voltage Questions?

I have been reading this thread with great interest and I would like to throw my 2c on this subject. I recently purchased the iCharger 206B because I like the fact that it can be calibrated manually and works well with Logview. When I charged my first 18650 (AW 2900), I measured the open...

Zebralight SC600 Hotspot issue - Homemade solution inside

Re: Zebralight SC600 Hotspot issue I spoke with both Zebralight.com and the UK shop from where I purchased the light. Zebralight told me to ship the flashlight to China for inspection (3 weeks delivery to China and who knows when it will come back - I received no details regarding a time frame)...

Zebralight SC600 Hotspot issue - Homemade solution inside

Re: Zebralight SC600 Hotspot issue I know the head is unscrewable but its glued and would be difficult to open and to put back together. On the other hand I will exchange it so I don't want to risk it.
