Recommend a head light or clip-on flashlight?

I haven't kept up with the forums for over a year, so I'd appreciate a recommendation. I'm looking for a simple, light weight, durable, and reasonably bright headlamp. A small flashlight with a pocket clip that allows it to be clipped onto a cap visor would work just as well. I'd...

    Recommend an indestructible rechargeable?

Good suggestions. I hadn't heard about the Streamlights. I'll look for the Stinger LED and Strion LED on eBay and Craigslist. (Later) I found some for about $80... Thanks! Luke

    Recommend an indestructible rechargeable?

Yeah, it would be a lot easier if I thought he'd take the time to remove and recharge batteries. :) But I'm looking for the simpler "grab off the wall" solution. Thanks, though. Luke

    Recommend an indestructible rechargeable?

Hi, I'm looking for an indestructible rechargeable light for my dairy-farmer friend. He's not a flashaholic, so it doesn't have to be the latest or brightest technology. Can anybody suggest something similar to the Inova T4 or Pelican 7060 that's a bit cheaper? Used is fine. < $50 would be...

    Holsters for TR-801 and C308?

I received two new lights last week, and I'm trying to figure out which holsters fit them. I searched the usual site, but was having trouble finding something in stock that I could determine would fit. Any suggestions? The lights are the Trustfire TR-801 (0.94" x 4.4") and the UltraFire...

Thrower that recharges by plug-in or cradle

Thanks for all the help. The Dorcy looks great, but I decided to get the used Inova--durability over brightness. You guys were great!:thumbsup: Luke

Thrower that recharges by plug-in or cradle

Thanks for the tip about the charger and it being awkward to hold. Sounds like that isn't the best option. Luke

Thrower that recharges by plug-in or cradle

Thanks for the link. I've sent a question about the light for sale. Luke

Thrower that recharges by plug-in or cradle

I think for my uncle, ease of use will trump long battery life. He has big old arthritic working hands that would make it hard to remove, recharge, and replace batteries. Can anyone comment on how easy the Dorcy is to recharge? Is it a small DC plug that goes in a little hole on the light...

Thrower that recharges by plug-in or cradle

I'll check the Pelican prices, thanks. (minutes later...) Ouch. That's going to be well over $100. I know that's nothing for true flashaholics, but my uncle certainly isn't one, and I'm not *that* generous. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/images/smilies/redface.gif Any other ideas...

Thrower that recharges by plug-in or cradle

I need suggestions for a light for my elderly uncle to use to check on things on "the farm" at night. I'd like it to be: * < $50 * Cree * Good throw * Recharge by plug-in or sitting in a charger * Sturdy * Simple to use I did search the forums, but couldn't find anything. (I asked a few days...

    Rechargeable handheld spotlight?

Thanks for the reply, Sarge. Yep, still out of stock. I guess I'll ask again without the word "spotlight" and see if that opens up some more possibilities. Luke

    Hidden Gem - Eastward YJ-XAQ5 18650 - Budget Dereelight!

It took a few e-mails and a few weeks, but KD finally gave a Paypal refund yesterday. So I'm just out ~$10 shipping for the return. Maybe I'll ask again if they'll refund my shipping. Before I returned it, KD said they probably would. Luke

    Hidden Gem - Eastward YJ-XAQ5 18650 - Budget Dereelight!

I returned my Eastward to KD on May 1 via US Mail for a refund. When I inquired a few days ago about the status, I received this reply: "Thank for your email. The only weakness of the flishlight is that the design of the spring in the tube isn't cricket, lead to the light poor and flicker. Now...

    IRAQ/Military Deployment lights-Sticky (Part 2)

Baterija, Thanks very much for the detailed, thoughtful reply. As you suggest, I'll skip the UV and thrower. So now I'm leaning toward the Photon Proton Pro (for EDC and red), a headlamp (probably the Petzl Tactikka Plus 4-LED Headlamp for its 3 levels and pull-down red filter), and a AAA...

Energizer 80 lumen 2 pack at Sams Club

This might revive a thread: The Energizer 80 lumen two-pack is $16.81 at my local Sam's (central Alabama)!! That's what the website says for pick up. I'll check it out soon and maybe stock up. $16.81 for two 2xAA Cree lights plus 4 cells. Wow. :faint: Luke

Will Peak ever increase their presence on this forum?

Just today I started trying to learn about Peak lights. I read about their interchangeable heads and thought they might be a good option for a friend joining the military (red, UV, and white LEDs). But I have trouble getting info from their website. Which LEDs do they use and what bin? I...
