    I don't have any beamshots, but the XML is a floody LED...even more so when combined with the small reflector of the novatac. You'll be pleased, it wont be a thrower at all. As for the LED get the XM-L2 over an XML (it's the newer more efficient version with greater output). Tint is all up to you.

    +1 I just built a P60 drop-in with this same exact emitter, and man it's awesome. This is my first non-cool white light and..... well, I think I finally understand the importance of tint! I would forfeit a few extra lumens from my SC52 for a warmer tint in a heartbeat...

    I don't think it works that way exactly. I believe the led/circuit step down is a function that protects the light from excess heat. Sure the light can run at 600 lumens... But it will be difficult to manage the heat. Also, I don't see any reason why the SC52 with its XML emitter and a 4.2v...

    My new ZL SC52 arrived today and it is a sweet little light! Everything looks spot on… buuuuuuuuuuuuuut the new ZL 14500 is dead right out of the box! DEAD! DMM reads 0.00 and it wont take a charge. Bummer.
