    Just picked up a River Rock 3AA Lantern from Target

    Even though the package says "K2", it may or may not be. There have been two versions of the lantern sold at Target in the same identical packaging. The earlier version was K2, the later was a Cree. There are prior threads describing this.

    maglite with stuck corroded alkaline batteries

    Regular household tin foil works well. Start with a piece about 10 inches wide and then fold piece up into a one inch square, then fold the corners into the adapter. Adjust the starting size of the piece of foil to control the final thickness.

    New 200 lumen light at Home Depot

    I use a piece of tin foil about 12x 6 inches and then fold it so that I end up with a piece about 1 inch square. Bend the corners down to fit inside of the rear edge of the adapter, making it more rounded in shape. So far it works great on anything that has a large spring for a contact.

    Are you sure about that? Doesn't a "10 amp" charger refer to output current at 12 volts, which would be 10 amps x 12 volts = 120 watts output? To need 1,200 watts input would mean a charger efficiency of 10%, and a really HOT charger since it would be converting over 1000 watts to heat.
