I'm looking for the best optic for my DIY led bicycle front light.
I think I need elliptical beam around 20°x10°. What is your opinion, which is the best beam pattern for bike, and where I can get the best optics for?
I saw this headlight and the beam is pretty much the same as my good'ol halogen:

Elliptical beam, bottom wider, top narrower and brighter. I like this pattern, but it's probably hard to find a lense or reflector which achieves this with a single emitter at a reasonable price. Probably with two emitters it's easier to make this beam. What would you recommend, I'm waiting for your DIY ideas, thoughts, opinions.

See this thread in the LED forum. There are several elliptical optics (Fraen, L2, Ledil) but it is still unclear to me which optics fit nicely on which star-mounted LEDs.
