Any LED upgrade in opalec newbeam?

Hi guys!

I was looking for a good long running led module for Mag aa and I heard opalec newbeam is the longest runner under full regulation. But it seems a little too dim.

Any upgrade in led? or maybe any plans do they have?

I am with ya.

I would love to have a Newbeam with the Nichia CS, but I definitely donot have the ability for such a delicate operation.

Hopefully, Opalec will use the new LED's soon.

Maglite will be releasing their own 2aa and 3aa minimags in August, so you might want to wait and buy one of those.

Those will be Luxeon-based. Brighter, yes, but less runtime. If you're looking for a simple Lux-based drop-in for a minimag, checkout the TLE-5 at led-replacement.com, or the sammies at the Shoppe, or Lambda's MiniPro pills.
