I just ordered a SL propolymer 4AA from brightguy, so I will do a real nice review of it when I receive it...but from what I have read, it seems to me like this might be a reallllly good choice for your friend. It is powerful, bright yellow so it is hard to lose AND it's cheap...especially for a company like streamlight. My guess is that the propolymer material holds up very well in many conditions and at the same time, if you drop it AND it breaks (which I highly doubt will happen), you can pay 28 bucks before shipping and have a new one at your doorstep in a few days. Can't really go wrong with that proposition.
