After the MH12 Pro Nitecore also renews the major MH25 series, bringing new features and better performance to this version too.
Nitecore MH25 Pro uses the NiteLab LED Uhi 40. The characteristics and strengths of this LED are the small size of the LED, the ultra-high light density (maximum brightness per square millimeter of the light-emitting surface) and the ultra-powerful light output.
MH25 Pro with the new Uhi 40 LED has a maximum output of 3300 lumens, with a maximum peak beam intensity of 124,300cd, ideal for emergencies, outdoor activities, checks maintenance, patrols, law enforcement and more.
MH25 Pro is sold with the new 5300 mAh lithium battery in 21700 format (it is compatible with 1 18650 battery or 2 CR123/RCR123 batteries) and is rechargeable via the USB-C port with a maximum autonomy of 650 hours . Nitecore MH25 Pro has two switches, one at the tail and one on the side, it has two modes of use for daily or tactical use with 5 light levels (beyond the 3 special) ranging from 1 lumen to 3300 lumens. It has a waterproof rating of IP68 (2 meters submersion) and has impact resistance up to one meter.

Nitecore MH25 Pro also arrives in the classic dark colored cardboard box with writings reporting the main features that distinguish it. Inside the package we find, in addition to the Nitecore MH25 Pro with the new 5300 mAh 21700 lithium battery inside, the clip, the USB-C charging cable, the holster, the lanyard, a spare O-ring, manual and warranty.
The holster is made of cordura with elasticated sides. Well made and sturdy to the touch, it has a plastic D-ring at the top and a hook and loop closure and opening.
The bidirectional clip in stainless steel, included in the package, is of good workmanship, ideal for attaching to pockets, backpacks, MOLLE system etc.
The battery included in the sales package is the recent Nitecore Lithium in 21700 format (NL2153HP) with now 5,300mAh and a continuous discharge current of 20 A. With this battery the autonomy reaches 650 hours (ULTRALOW).
Nitecore MH25 Pro can also be used with other 21700 batteries, which have a discharge current of at least 15A and with the button positive, or via the adapter (not included) with 18650 (15A) or CR123/RCR123 format batteries.
Nitecore MH25 Pro has good build quality and the design, like the smaller MH12 Pro, is completely revised compared to the past.
The dimensions are smaller than the previous MH25 V2. MH25 Pro sits well in the hand; particularly note the deep knurling with rings on the torch body which makes the grip optimal and changes the design of the head with the lateral rubber button surrounded by a series of colored LEDs (four on each side) different ones that make the battery level (green LEDs) and the output light level (blue LEDs) simple and clear.
Finally, on the projector, near the LED, there is a proximity sensor.
Nitecore MH25 Pro is built of aluminum alloy with anodized finish, black, military-grade hard and is made up of three parts: head, body and tail.
Nitecore MH25 Pro is 153.6mm long and weighs 210g (with battery and clip inserted). The grip is excellent and well made and the writing on the torch is clearly legible.
On the head of the Nitecore MH25 Pro we find a SMO (smooth) dish with the Nitelab UHi 40 LED in the center.
The round light-emitting surface (LES) of the UHi 40 LED matches perfectly with the round reflector, allowing for high efficiency and a bright, clear hotspot.
The optical system combined with crystal coating and "Precision Digital Optics Technology" (PDOT), provides a maximum peak beam intensity of 124,300 cd and a maximum throw of 705 meters.
The bezel is slightly crenulated. You can see the proximity sensor on the side of the LED.
The cooling system for heat dissipation is good.
Under the head the design with the particular shape limits rolling.
An interesting novelty for the MH25 series is the proximity sensor located adjacent to the UHi 40 LED which limits the light output to 300 lumens if it detects an obstacle at close range. The sensor intervenes at a distance of approximately 2 or 3 cm from the obstacle, decreasing the brightness to avoid overheating or burns due to accidental switching on.
The sensor uses reflected light and in this deep projector it doesn't always work well, particularly on dark colored obstacles.
The side button (Mode Button), which we find on the side of the head, is made of rubber of decent size and with a loud click. The particular shape makes it more identifiable to the touch. With this button we will vary the 5 available levels and the 3 special levels.
The new LEDs (4 on each side), adjacent to the side button, are one of the new features of the MH25 Pro.
On the right we have the green LEDs which instantly indicate the battery charge status.
When the light is on, the green power indicators illuminate constantly to indicate remaining battery power.
Status of indicators Charge level:

1 fixed 0%-25% (please charge the product as soon as possible).
On the left we have the blue LEDs that indicate the light level we are using.
On the opposite side of the side button we find the USB-C charging port protected by a very thick rubber door that is very well made. Above the door we find the writing 5V/2A and IP68 engraved which certifies the IP68 protection (2 meters submersible) of the charging connector.
During the charging process, the four green lights gradually change from flashing to solid to indicate the battery level.
• When the battery is fully charged, the MH12 Pro stops the charging process and the power indicators light up constantly to inform the user.
• When the light is on, connecting to a power source automatically turns it off. The flashlight automatically enters LOW when disconnected from the power source.
The charging time of the 21700 battery (5,300 mAh) found in the package was approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes (2A) in my tests.
The central body, made with CNC machining, has a particular design with a non-slip knurling (1 mm deep) to guarantee a secure grip even with sweaty and wet hands or when wearing gloves.
The two spaces where the supplied bidirectional clip can be inserted are clearly visible.
Nitecore MH25 Pro is made up of 3 parts; head, body and tail.
In the rear part of the tube we find the threads which, being anodized, allow the mechanical locking of the torch by slightly unscrewing the tail. There is also a sealing O-ring for protection against water and dust.
At the two poles, for contact with the battery, we find a large plated spring button at the tail (negative) and a plated button at the positive (soldered onto a base with spring). Nitecore MH25 Pro has reverse polarity protection.
The U-shaped tail cap helps prevent accidental activation and offers tail support functionality while being compatible with a lanyard (included) for convenient carrying.
Also in the queue we find the mechanical button to turn the flashlight on or off. The button also has the Momentary On function (Momentary Tactical Lighting). To operate it you need to use a fair amount of force and the click is noisy.

USER INTERFACE (UI):
Nitecore MH25 Pro has two switches, one on the side and one on the tail.
With the Nitecore MH25 Pro we have 2 Operating Modes: Daily Mode (factory selected) and Tactical Mode. The available light levels are 5 + 3 special levels.
Ultra Low: 1 lumen, Low: 50 lumens, Medium: 300 lumens, High: 1200 lumens and Turbo: 3300 lumens.
Strobe: 3300 lumens, Beacon: 3300 lumens and SOS: 3300 lumens.
BEAM and RUNTIME:
The beam of the Nitecore MH25 Pro has good uniformity with a tint that is not too cold and no visible artifacts. With the lighting test near the wall you notice a bright spot with the corona surrounding it tending to green.
The beam of the Nitecore MH12 Pro is powerful with a noticeable central illumination that can reach long distances.
According to my measurements, the peak values in candela (cd) taken with the LX1330B Luxmeter (5 meters away) are approximately those declared by the parent company (ANSI/PLATO FL 1-2019).
The CCT (color temperature) and Ra (color rendering) values taken with the OPPLE Light Master Pro, three meters away from the sensor, vary according to the selected light level.
As can be seen from the data obtained, the color rendering has somewhat low values. The Duv of 0.0119 (TURBO mode) is shifted towards the green color (CIE 1931 xy coordinates).
In TURBO I measured 6092 CCT and 66.2 Ra.
In HIGH I measured 5835 CCT and 63.3 Ra.
In MID I measured 5700 CCT and 62.2 Ra.

We see in the photo below the Nitecore MH25 Pro (left) next to the Nitecore SRT7i (right).
With a thermal camera I detected the hottest areas of the MH25 Pro in the brightest mode (Turbo 3300 lumens) after: 2min and 10min from turning it on.
The Runtimes were done indoors with a temperature of approximately 24°C using the 5300 mAh Nitecore 21700 battery, found in the sales package, fully charged.
I would like to point out that the values expressed by the graphs must be taken, above all, as a reference because they were made with means and environmental conditions different from those used in the laboratory.
Note: Nitecore MH25 Pro, with the ATR module, adjusts its output power by adapting to the surrounding environment, maintaining optimal performance.
1 - In "TURBO" mode without ventilation" there is a slightly steep descent from the start and a timed step-down just 35 seconds after switching on. Another small decrease occurs after 5 minutes and subsequently up to minute 133 the curve remains constant.
Following are two other step-downs that bring the MH25 Pro into Ultralow mode (1 lumen) for a long period of time.
2 - In "TURBO ventilated" mode the start is similar to the test without ventilation with a sudden descent after just 35 seconds. Subsequently the brightness is higher but consequently the runtime is significantly lower with the battery starting to run out after around 68 minutes.
3 - In "HIGH without ventilation" mode, after switching on there is a small increase in brightness for approximately 4 minutes. After a small descent the curve is constant until minute 130 where the drops due to battery exhaustion begin.

CONCLUSIONS:
Nitecore updates the major MH25 series with the new Uhi 40 LED created in collaboration with NiteLab. II Nitecore MH25 Pro brings some important innovations that improve the feeling with the flashlight and make its use more intuitive.
The side button changes, now large, and 8 side LEDs are added adjacent to it which instantly indicate the battery charge status and the light level we are using. A proximity sensor is added near the Uhi 40 LED which, however, in this version has some difficulties in operating on darkly colored obstacles. The torch body now has an improved grip thanks to the particular design with a 1 mm deep non-slip knurling.
Returning to the new Uhi 40 LED in this MH25 Pro, I really liked it, I just hope that in the future they will be able to correct the slightly green tint of the beam which however does not affect its quality.
The 3300 lumens Turbo level is timed to around 35 or 40 seconds so the considerable power it has is limited for a short period of time. I would prefer less lumens but at least a time close to a minute in this level.
Finally, the sales package is complete with a clip, an excellent cordura holster and a 21700 battery, now 5300mAh, to use the torch straight away. The price on the official website is $99.95, a great price for a complete and powerful flashlight. Recommended.
