I want to convert my hologen bike lights to luxeon LEDs and my searching has not come up with anything that will work to mount a luxeon in a MR11 form factor reflector housing. I'm thinking that there may be enough room to mount three luxeon stars with reflectors into a unit that is MR11 bulb compatible.

I'd consider one of the multi high ouput 5mm LED type MR11 bulb replacement units if they didn't have the LEDs hanging out uncovered. Does anyone know of this type that has the LEDs covered?

All input appreciated.

No. You'll never get 3 Luxeon stars in the space of one MR11. You might get Luxeon emitters in that space, but you wouldn't have room for optics or reflectors. A Star is roughly 20mm in diameter, and an MR11 bulb is about 35mm.

Here is a link to some info on a Luxeon Star: http://lumileds.com/pdfs/DS23.pdf

I don't think that you would be too happy with the multi-led 5mm type of MR11 replacement.
