Is the reflector on the Streamlight ProPolymer 4AA Luxeon coated with something, or is it just polished aluminum? Would cleaning it with a q-tip and isopropyl alcohol damage the finish like it would to some other reflectors?

It has a coating on top of the aluminum. Treat it as you would any coated reflector.

I don't think the alcohol itself would hurt it, but the Q-tip may leave marks.

Like what THEZMAN said. If there's dust or the like on the reflector, you may want to "blow" if off with something like a Hakuba bulb blower available at camera corners. I tend to treat my reflectors like "fine" optics, such as on my Nikon and Mead SC.

Enjoy!

The problem isn't really dust, it's that there are a few smudges on it. I have no idea how they got there since I've never touched it, but in any case...

Maybe I'll just leave it be since they don't seem to affect the beam quality or output.

Careful with this reflector, I've found it scratches easily. If you get any dust particles on it use a can of air for cleaning.
