Any “Red filter” mods for PT Quad?

Hi CPF!

I need a small headlamp with red light. But I am no fan of Petzl TacTikka Plus.

Are there any mods to the PT Quad that will add red light?

Do you want red light all the time, or will you switch between red and white? Does the red light need to be bright, or can it be less bright than the main light?

You could keep a red PT Pilot on the Quad's strap if you just need an auxiliary red light (it's what I do with my Eos) or find adhesive red "gel' to cover the Quad for a more permanent conversion that's also bright. Or, here's an Eos diffuser project that could be adapted for a red foldaway solution for the Quad:

More sophisticated folks than I might swap in red LEDs, but that's beyond my skill-set.

The PT Pilot is an excellent idea.

your not alone... seems that a lot of us want a headlamp with a low/night vision friendly setting... so far PT hasn't delivered

One option is the Petzl Tikka XP and use the red diffuser. It is the setup I'm currently using on the rescue RHIB. It's the best solution I've found so far...

Red automotive tail light repair tape works well.
