I would like my next light to have these qualities - all for no more than $75.00:
LED, very bright flood, throw not so important, extremely reliable with parts availability, well regulated, no batteries more exotic than 123's.
What should it be? Thanks.
ps: Current lights:
SF 6P with 1 cell extension, (G&P 3w assembly on order) SF G2, Pentagon X2, (2) Peak Pacific Ultras (1 is cyan) with optional bodies etc, Peak Kilmanjaro, single red LED, Arc-P, Eternalight xray.

How about this? Buy the Fenix P1 and the Inova X5 both. Both are good lights, and you can get both of them for your price of $75. The Inova is $30 at target, and the P1 is $45 at the Fenix store.

Check eBay, I think there's a few people over there that might be waiting for you :D

You might want to check to see if Streamlight has anything that appeals to you. Mag doesn't have anything for flood usage. They're about the only two vendors that would have parts for extended periods of time. For the most part, nothing from China would have spare parts, most of the Asian manufacturing seems to have very little if any spare/replacement parts. Maybe the SL PP 4AA 7LED or the SL PP 3C 10LED?

Ideally, I would go with a Surefire L2 or L4, but those are way out of your specified price range. Alternatively, you might try a G2 with a BOG G&P Lux V P60 replacement. The BOG module is around $50, and the G2 is around $30-35. If it's not floody enough for you, you can attach an FM34 Beamshaper, but that's another $35.

If you like, you can try putting some sort of semi-opaque diffusion filter (homemade) over an existing light. Search for "diffuser," or maybe "more flood."

This would be perfect if you could stretch your budget.

Thanks for the replies. The LEDwave looks interesting, but a little shy on run time on high. I must look at SL, I'm just not fond of their incandescents thus far.

I edited to show my current torches in the 1st post.:)

Streamlight 2L 3W Luxeon LED Task-Light Flashlight:

At 73 bucks, this just fits your criteria.

I'd love to have one of these lights, but I don't really need it and can't rationalize buying it because of the price.

The Streamlight TL-3 at Amazon.com is $80.00 with free shipping. This one has a great flood with good brightness. The 2L 3W is also great, but it has more of a very bright spot with decent spill. Link to the Streamlight TL-3 LED below.

P.S. Ringzero...You can buy the 2L 3W at Amazon.com for $54.00 with free shipping. It is a great flashlight I own 2 of them.

Thanks FlashKat.

It's a lot more tempting at 54 bucks than at 73 bucks!

It has nearly everything I want in a light for walking. Two levels, decent output and runtime, compact size, and most important for me, the switch is positioned in the right place for walking.

FYI...I run my Streamlight 2L 3W on 17670 batteries and a DSD charger from lighthound.com, or RCR123 3.0v batteries and charger from batteryspace.com. This flashlight is probably one of my best all around lights that I own. I also reamed out my 2L 3W to accept 18650 batteries...Yes it works well with 17670 batteries if you are wondering.

If you can get a good suggestion on a PR based bright LED, get a Princeton Tec-20 with the orange peel reflector as the host. (Most come with this reflector standard)
In my experience it's about 95% flood using a SMJLED.
