I want to get some IR LED's to make into a flashlight, know where I can get some? I know very little, about IR LED's, but a quality one simlar to a UV Cree LED would be perfect as I would like to use the with reflectors.

thanks, Ian :)

Radio Shack sells IR LEDs.

The question is what are you going to do with it? IR isn't visible unless you're using an IR camera, scope, or goggles.

Thanks, yes, for video camera illumination, I'll have a look at the links,
cheers,

Ian :)

EDIT

Its for a Sony 'Nightshot' mode, what would be a suitable wavelength?

We can help you out -- but a lot of places sell IR LEDs that will work with video equipment (if the CCD does not have the dichroic filter, or has had the filter removed). Anywhere between 850nm and longer will be fine -- just make sure the beam angle matches your camera, and that they are powerful enough for the distance you are looking for.
