My Z59 Locked up. I took it apart because it was stiff and could use a picture
to look at. I'm going to fix it myself. I had one of the notched part's in the
clickie upside down. While I was at it I took a CR123 battery washer and cut
it in 4 section's, put it between the switch halves and wala! Switch action
smoothed right out just like the Z57 fix.:grin2:

Re: Z59 Locked Up: Repaired!

Actually the switch did not fail but it's action wasn't smooth at all. I took it apart to
see if I could lubricate it and there are 2 pieces inside that make up the rachet that
makes the switch work and I installed one upside down. That locked it up tight. So
I fixed that (these switches are very simple on the inside). Then I tried the Z57
washer trick and it smoothed the action out. The pushbutton is slightly loose but work's fine. I'll use it for awhile and see how it work's out. If it doesn't it's very easily
changed back. I'll check the Surefire site again but I'm 98% sure it's a Z49. It isn't a
Z59, I believe that's a Black clickie for the E series. This is a black clickie I bought to
try on a 3P and it work's well.

BBL you were correct sir! It is a Z59 not a Z49. The black clickie for E series is Z61
not Z59. Sorry for the confusion and thank's for pointing that out. I will edit my post!

I have a Z59 that sticks and I tried that washer trick on it.

It went from sticking on to being intermittent.
