You might also want to try the G&P 9V bulb. You can get it at Lighthound. My experience is that it is a tad brighter but definately whiter when using 17500's with it.

I run my 9P(P90) with AW protected 17500's. It is easy to notice that it is whiter with the rechargables, but it is also about 10% brighter according to my meter. I have also done multiple run-time tests and at about 40-45min you can see the beam start to get a little yellow. At 50min, the protection kicks in and the light shuts off.

when the P90 burns out(if ever)or you feel like upgrading brightness... step up to a LumensFactory HO-9 or EO-9 on that same pair of 17500s. runtime will be about 35 minutes on the HO-9. and about 25 minutes on the EO-9... The EO-9 is about double the brightness of a P90.
