so um... im not good with leds but from what i have read i think the vildbar with these rechargable bateries and this charger seems good.

I also heard that there is a five or so ohm resistor and that i should replace it with a one or two ohm resistor so sound good?

thanks in advance!

On the DX site, look under Flashlights > Cree Lights or SSC-P4 Lights
These lights are twice as bright and not as hot as the Luxeon lights.

It depends if HK wants runtime, brightness, simplicity. That's why I am asking why the Vildbar.

For brightness I would buy the LILL, KULL or VINET since they are brighter and they are 2 stage lights. I would also look at the Cree lights, but I know they cost more. Keep in mind most of the Cree lights offer free shipping.
If price does not matter then there is Lumapower, Huntlight, Amilite, etc.
www.kaidomain.com also carries similiar lights, but also carries a selection of different lights to consider.

I hesitate with the SSC P-4 lights, because I bought the MTE Z-Power and I had trouble with it from day one and I also bought a SSC P-4 U bin star that was defective. Both bought from dealextreme. Just my opinion, since others had good reviews.

I have 2 of these lights and have some questions:

I'm using non-rechargables. Are those rcr123 good for this flashlight in terms of the following:
1) brightness
2) runtime
3) battery shelf life

Also, I have the rexlight on order. Any idea how the 2 will compare in terms of brightness?

Thanks guys.

I think the light in the first link would be a good choice. I have the MTE Z-Power and I had trouble with it.

I don't remember there being a resistor in the VILDBAR at all.

1) Yes- Most of these lights work best off RCR123
2) No- You will get about half the runtime.
3) It will not last 10 years like regular CR123 batteries, but they do hold a charge. There is a thread about this subject somewhere.
You may want to PM CPF'er SilverFox to see if he could enlighten you on batteries. He is very informative and always willing to help out.
