flashlight to ambient light?

what are some options? i know some people mention plastics caps. so far i couldn't find one that fits the l2d head.
the purpose would be to light up an area with no hotspot but there is no ceiling to bounce off of.

i tried a balloon. seems okay but the rubber rips putting on and off. maybe there is some secret household item that someone can share.:toilet:

For surefire E-series lights I use the plastic M&M tubes. Can make some pretty cool mini light cones, and the whites make a great area light.

The white/clear film canisters make a great diffuser. Just cut a hole in the cap to let most of the beam into the canister, and set it on top of the light when tail standing.

Cut one of the fingers off of a latex glove. They work great. If it tears, you have four more you can use.
