Rechargeable alkalines are a waste of money - really don't go there. Normal alkalines aren't really rechargeable - while you may get a few seconds more out of them, that's all.

Since I'm not in the US, I've no idea what Target or Walmart carry.

I'm liking the Duracell 4AA charger with segmented separate charge indicators.

It takes it about 4 hours to charge up Hybrids (Low Self Discharge NimH)

And I have used it one one battery just fine.

Model CEF21 (tried to find it on Duracell.com with no luck)

Oh Yeah! This item comes from Walmart. Tends to be off to the right of the major battery area.

Walmart sells a 4xAA + Charger combo of Eneloops (low self discharge) for $20. This is usually found in the camera section, not with the bulk of batteries.

I like the Energizer 15 minute charger. Sometimes they even have one that comes with both AC/DC cords. Takes a little longer than 15 minutes if you are charging more than about 2200mAh batteries though.
