If I got 4, 4AA packs of Eneloops from Amazon, and all of the batteries are reading -1.04 volts on my meter?

I put them in my camera, and it said low battery. I thought, no big deal... Maybe they discharged a little too much since 2006. I tested them with my multimeter, and they all read -1 volt.

Would you suggest I don't put them on a charger?

So... I'm gonna mark with a magic marker which ones are backwards... and you think the negative spring in most applications is gonna work with the small positive terminal on eneloops?

Okay, I'm an idiot, I had my nephews over last week, and one of the probes was in the amp plug.

They're reading 1.3 volt. :)

Well, one was in the positive current plug, and one was in the positive for voltage.

If it did short them out, I don't think a second is going to kill them.
