hmmm....

Let's see... the SLF has the switch mouted on a PCB. at the center of that is the - spring and at the ring the other contact.

A retaining ring is used to secure the switch assembly on the tailcap body AND makes electrical contact with it. That ring has also a plastic washer to isolate it from the spring.

Now I can provide the SLF dimensions but do not know anything about the McClicky.
By eyeballing I can say that you need a ring to fit the switch in the tailcap body PLUS some metallic washers (with inner rim insulation) to raise the McClicky contact ring to contact the retaining ring.

BTW I have to add this but do not think it will fit you quality wise..KD sells a forward version of the SLF tailcap...

This will be a VERY interesting mod...

I was thinking of placing the SLF forward click switch in a Ultrfire C-1 taicap because of the raised rim aroun the bootie...Now I am reconsidering following your route regarding the McClicky..
