Hi all

Im very new to this.

I bought an Aurora Cree R2 .http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12849. The problem was that was flickering. SO decided to clean everything did not work so opened it up.

BIG MISTAKE the wire came loose and I destroyed the trying to open it ( it was glued).

I have an old flashlight body can I transfer led to this light. Which was running a luxeon led (looks like this http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4056) and was on a star base 20mm and it accepted 3 and 3.6 volt battries. It just about fit a 20mm star Have pics cannot upload them.

The luxeon led has a round metal base and the star roung circle where the base sits. R2 LED is much bigger and if i glue it, should i glue the metal to metal bit of the led and star? or should i glue it to the black areas of the star only?

Will the led blow?
what tools do i need?
what types of glue should i use.

The is DX website "Accepted voltage input range: 0.8V~1.5V (do not use 10440)".

The CREE website http://www.cree.com/products/pdf/XLamp7090XR-E.pdf
I think it can accept 3.7 volts.

thank you

The note "Accepted voltage input range: 0.8V~1.5V (do not use 10440)" means that the driver in the Auror light is only designed for 0.8 - 1.5v

The LED can handle more voltage.

For pics, you need to host them on photobucket or a similar site and link to them
