Well, I was playing around with my Inova X5 today and something popped up that has previously never bothered me - the beam was a pale blue color.

I know I may be expecting too much from 5mm LEDs but I've always wondered why even the "white" ones never come close to being white. I'm probably spoiled on my neutrals and warm whites but still, it's not even close to being white. I also know modern high output LEDs are actually blue with a yellow (phosphor?) coating on them combines to make them white but is it so hard to have a 5mm light be white? And what bothers me the most is when I look inside the 5mm LEDs I can see a yellow reflection!

Does anyone here own a 5mm LED light that they can call white?

The Arc AAA Snow and Peak Matterhorn "snow white" tints are fairly white compared with other 5 mm LED lights.

These use the Cree Snow 5mm right?

Also the Nichia GS K1 C0W bin is a massive improvement on the traditional DS and GS tint...
