Hello all, i recieved my Ultrafire 900 lumen torch today with ssc p7 emitter, upon turning on the flashlight it was noticibly duller than my 250 lumen torch.
I took out the emitter wired up a 18650 battery and it lit up more than twice as bright, happy i was!
So i decided to solder the emitter to the driver but bypass the resistors and what not so it was direct driven, i soldered to the spring and outer edge of the driver, it worked the flashlight was brighter.
However the torch now heats up when it's turned off, i think it's more the battery that gets hot so i took the battery out and came here to consult with you lot.
I thought i may have heat issues but i didn't think the torch would heat up when it was turned off and the heat would come from the battery.
Any pointers on what im doing wrong ?
I can upload pics of my shoddy soldering job if you need a laugh
