Hello,
I recently bought a light, but mostly bought it for the host, as advertised, it says to be 1800 lumens and to use an SST-80 LED. Both of which I call BS on, as comparing it to an XM-L, they are both doing about the same brightness (so under 1000 lumens). and looking at the LED itself, it just looks like a cheap knock off from an SST-50.
As far as I know, luminus only released an SST-50 and an SST-90, however no mysterious SST-80... but once again, I didn't buy this for the light, I bought it for the host, and which I must admit, is fairly well built and easy to work with, and it will soon be modified to house an SST-90. (aiming for 2000 lumens or so).
Now to the fun part, the flashlight itself, here it is next to a Solarforce L2M, just to get an idea for size referance. This host takes two 18650 cells.

Oh label.. why must you lie to me?

Quick shot:
This light has three modes, a high powered strobe, high powered constant, and low power constant.

Heres the thing fully dissasembled, what I like about this one is that it uses a pill, and a pretty large one I might add... this will make it really easy on me to modify it for an SST-90.

The double O-rings... threads are nicely done and greased up:

My Final thoughts
As far as going for buying a flashlight, you are more or less getting what you paid for (50$ shipped from ebay) This light will NOT output 1800lm, and will probably use an SST-50 or a simular powered LED. Its still a great and functional light, however, you are not getting what was advertised.
As to my own purpose and reasonings for getting this, I was interested in such a large flashlight and fairly easy to work with, so personally I would have to say that this has been up to my expectations, but however, with the price I payed and the obvious giveaways (like the mythical SST-80).
Overall, I am satisfied in my purchase, as I was looking for a host and some spare parts as extras (I didn't really care for the LED).
Host = 5/5 (good quality and well made)
LED/Driver = 3/5 (It functions and works as its an SST-50, but it is falsly advertised, so buyer beware)
Shipping time = 4/5 (one and a half week from hong kong)
I hope you guys enjoyed my first review, and that it will help some others, If you have any quesions I failed to cover, please feel free to ask.
I will later post some shots outdoors once the sun goes down. Might as well get some shots of it before it gets disected and turned into an SST-90.
Cheers!
