Phillips announced their Luxeon Z to much fanfare: [h=2]Lighting industry's Smallest Power LED with Highest Lumen Density[/h]But not once could I find their LED characteristics.
Flux, FV, price, anyone? :-D
Cheers

Yeah...I got a preliminary datasheet but can't post it online as I have signed something saying I can't. It isn't really that "great" shall we say. Cree XB-D is still better on almost all fronts except forward voltage (and even then I question Luxeon on that).

Also, the specs are done at 25C and 500mA not 350mA like every other LED. I know the whole "most people drive these at 500mA" story but when I go to compare it doesn't add up to what Cree is doing. Also not hot binning...wtf?

The only8 real advantage I saw was that with no dome it makes it easier to couple to fiber, and it's size allows more of them to be packed into a small area meaning smaller colour mixing optics, etc. I personally will wait for the colour XB-D then compare.
