Quantify a 15W IR led for me, Please?

I've been reading threads and googling (Time waster?) to try to quantify the strength of a 15w LED IR light. I've bought some from China and HK and am awaiting delivery. I am more the 'consumer' and less the 'connoisseur' of flashlights, I admit that. I have had some really acceptable standard LED units bought from HK and China in the past. Planning on using this as an adjunct for the groups' NV requirements. I have a Gen 1 NVD that seems to have an emitter that is the 'weak spot'. Hoping that the IR flashlight will fill the bill. Can you give me an idea of what to expect from a 15w LED? It seems like the emitter is really key. Thanks in advance!
