I saw that Home Depot has Cree 60 Watt replacement Cree light bulbs for $13. I bought one while I was there and tried it out. It it the best LED that I have tried.
The light emitted was omnidirectional, instead of being focused in one direction (unlike other LEDs that I have tried).
I have also verified that it is able to be dimmed (although it does not dim as low as an incandescent does).
There are two downsides that I noticed: A buzzing sound being emitted. It is noticeable if the house is quiet. Also, it cannot be used in fully enclosed fixtures.
