In short, is there an agency that verifies the wattage used of LED bulbs sold in the US? And, do cpf users here spot-verify the current draw of these bulbs.
This seems like a stupid question. Then, when I multiply the current of my Ecosmart 6 watt bulb by 110 volts, I get >8 watts, not 6. I get closer to 9 watts at 120 volts.
This Home Depot Ecosmart is also way brighter than the Dx.com 6 watt bulbs I bought, which supposedly use 15 medium power 130 lpw smds.
To me, this is no small matter, since I am replacing 11 to 13 watt bulbs, with far pricier leds. So becoming neurotic over each watt is natural, and perhaps, useful in the great scheme of the electron cosmos.
