I am gathering parts to make a homemade Cree MC-E/ledil drop in. The Ledil boom reflector has an adhesive mounting tab that will come in contact with the solder tabs on the LED star.

Any recommendations on how to avoid causing a short?. I do not want to interfer with the emitter sitting at the proper depth within the reflector.

Any suggestions from those have dealt with this would be appreciated. Thanks

As per Ledil adhesive tape datasheet: "The foam is a polyurethane (PU) material. There is an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive coating on both sides."

This adhesive tape isn't conductive and won't cause a short.

Thanks. I tried a test fit and my concern is the adhesive tab does not cover the four legs on the reflector. They sit right on top of the solder pads on the star. I will probably coat them with epoxy.
