Battery Junction just sent me an email this morning for preordering this light. It looks interesting for how cheap it is, especially since it includes a (low capacity) 18650, but the lack of a true low mode means that I'll probably stay away. I absolutely need a moonlight mode for when I go backpacking.

What do you guys think? I've never owned a JETBeam light before.

Unbelievably! It uses one 18650 battery and can last 4 hours on 800 lumens mode?

I'm thinking there's has to be a drastic drop down in brightness after only a few minutes of actually putting out 800 lumens. That stat was listed as using the included 2400 mAh battery too, so I'm sure that's what's going on.

Low: 70 lumens

Jetbeam has a very consistent issue with low modes.

Yeah. I like the spacing of the outputs otherwise, but nothing below 70? Come on! I'd take anything less than 10, but preferably 1 lumen or less. Or a red light mode. Either one is what you need to preserve your night vision/prevent you from blinding the heck out of anyone you're with.

It would be nice if it could also take CR123, if that were the case I would absolutely buy one.
