If someone here uses the Opera Browser as I do, here is a simple tip to search the entire forum from the address bar:

edit the file search.ini located in:

C:\Documents and Settings\PEU\Application Data\Opera\Opera75\profile (replace PEU by your user name)

and edit some of the profiles you don't use to look like this:

Name=Search &Candlepowerforums
URL=http://www.google.com/search?q=%s+site:candlepowerforums.com
Query=
Key=gc
Is post=0
Has endseparator=0
Encoding=
Search Type=3
Verbtext=17063
Nameid=0
Position=-1

close the browser and then save the search.ini file

Then reopen opera and in the address bar type:

gc nx05 optic best price

a list of all the matches is listed.

YES, you can use the forum search capabilities, but you can use this method without being logged and you don't load the CPF servers /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

NO, I don't know a method for doing this in other browsers /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

This link will show you how to do it in Netscape and Mozilla. Scroll towards the bottom to where it says Use Google from the Location Bar

The basic steps involve setting up a bookmark and then changing its properties so it has a "keyword". You then type this keyword in the address bar followed by your search phrase and... voila!

BTW, you can tell Google to search within CPF (or any domain) by typing site:candlepowerforums.com Your "keyword search bookmark" (check its properties) should say: http://www.google.com/search?q=%s+site:candlepowerforums.com
