Did not know somebody post it or not before.
Please let me share some information to you.
Thanks for CPF guys show this wonderful method, no harm to the outer case.
Open the tailcap, put a small coin to protect the + contact. Submerge to the water and cover tailcap. Put it into the refrigerator.
After freezing a few hour, open the tailcap and repeat the same step until the bezel come out.
Pictures show more than words
Here we go.
1 Froze up
2 Froze up
3 Froze up
Driver still locked inside.
4 Froze up. I should do this at first time....much faster
Driver close-up
Driver up side down
Open
Took out Emitter
Took out circuit board. Tricks must be applied if you want to keep original board.
You see the Pin hold the board so tight, should remove pin first.
Crach show in TIROS
Any suggestion install the new circuit board or Emitter? :buddies:
Updated: Take extra caution, don't let the water cover the TIROS, If the water cover all of it, it will break the front lens. It is not reparable. Put a coin in the tail cap to prevent the water make a dome of the metal contact. Put it vertical when freezing, bezel upward. After freezing several times, ice might kill the driver and Lux already. So I couldn't suggest to open it. Your mileage may vary.
Good lucky!!!
