In all fairness what you're describing is a function of the batteries you're using and not the light.

A low battery warning, when present' is usually 'set' for primary batteries. Different brands of protected cells have different low voltage cutoff points so it would be nearly impossible for the warning to be accurate for more than 1 brand of protected RCR123a...never mind being accurate for RCR123A and Cr123A primary.

It doesn't hurt li-ions to charge them often - it's actually good for them - so I would recommend removing/charging frequently if going the rechargeable route.
 
That is true Matt. Rechargable batteries (except NiCads with memory effect) will last longer with more frequent small charge cycles that with fewer deep cycles.

Battery life cycles are given as estimates with a certain assumption of depth of discharge. You will shorten a battery's life by continously discharging it deeply before recharging it.
 
I just did a runtime of the IncenDio with an AW RCR123.

The IncenDio ran 59:33 until the protection kicked in and the light shut off.

At the time the the IncenDio read 1010 lux @ 1 meter.

1400 lux @ 00 min
1324 lux @ 5 min
1290 lux @ 10 min
1250 lux @ 15min
1230 lux @ 20min
1210 lux @ 25 min
1200 lux @ 30min
1200 lux @ 35min
1190 lux @ 40min
1180 lux @ 45min
1170 lux @ 50min
1140 lux @ 55min
1010 lux @ 59:33
Pardon my ignorance, but do these numbers tell the light isn't fully regulated, or is it the CR123 VS RCR123 thing?

Being a newly minted Flashaholic, I have read ALOT. And from what I gather 'fully regulated' is a term used rather loosely by many manufactures. A 400 lux drop from the beginning to the end, would probably seem regulated to my eyes. :shrug: And this is coming from someone (me)who is really enamored with regulation, numbers, graphs, etc. LOL.

Just for kicks, This is fully regulated. And this is not... Lol.
 
These are the lux readings I got. I am using a Meterman LM631 Light Meter measured at 1 meter. I waited 2 minutes before taking the readings. I am using fully charged AW's Protected RCR123.

Lumapower's IncenDio Q5 (High) - 1400 lux @ 1 meter
Lumapower's IncenDio Q5 (Medium) - 370 lux @ 1 meter
Lumapower's IncenDio Q5 (Low) - 100 lux @ 1 meter

I'm impressed how well spaced the hi/med/lo settings are. High is ~3.7x medium, and medium is ~3.7x low. It should make for nice, visually even changes in brightness levels.

May i ask a few questions on the forward clicky and the UI of the incendio:
1. How many seconds of continuous on until its considered a saved last mode?
2. Lets say my last saved mode was medium at 40lumens. I now momentarily on the light for like 5 seconds, and then off for 2 seconds and then momentarily on again. Will the light goes to the next mode or will it stays on medium?

The same way you always change output levels with the IncenDio - soft presses to the desired level which it will memorize after being on at that lvl for 2 seconds.

I really like this light! What a nice EDC it'll make.
So small.
So bright.
Nice runtimes.
Great tint.
Forward clicky.
Pocket clip.
Tailstands.
Looks good too!

If I had to be nit-picky I'd like the switch to be a little better. It does require a bit of travel before engaging. And with the small size and not any space next to the rim, it does make it hard to click sometimes if you don't attack it properly. ;)

The other thing I noticed was the beam in mine. It had a nice tight spot but was a bit ringy. Too tight a spot for me. With a light like this, I'll be using it more for everyday needs and I prefer a larger spot with a smoother transition to spill. I was able to achieve that with a simple mod. Here's what I did...

I just separated the head and added one of the included o-rings between the two sections and reassembled. It just changed the LED/reflector spacing and changed the beam characteristics. Actually, you can do this with quite a few different lights with a similar design. To experiment, you can just unscrew the two sections a bit and see what it does.

You may not need or want to do this with yours, but the results looked so good I thought I'd post the changes it made.

This shows where the added the o-ring is.

And this animation shows the differences the change makes. Notice how the spill goes slightly narrower and smoother and the rings are much improved.

That difference in the spot makes a big difference at 20-30 ft or more. The beam couldn't be better now.

As a parting thought, I'm surprised this light isn't arousing more interest than it currently is, cause it's a winner!

Lite me, tried that and it does make a diff but not as nice a result as yours as my LED seems slightly off-centre. There was also a strip of gum or something across the dome when I got mine but fortunately that came off without leaving any mark as far as I can tell.

I'm running it on UltraFire 16340 3.6V RC123 & I can't really see the confirmation flicker on high. AW's earlier blue jacketed RCR123s won't fit & AW's black & silver RC123s are a slightly tight fit & need a tap to get the battery out from the body but will work.

I also found the holster nicely made but just too snug for practical use. :shakehead

I love the GITD tailcap & o-ring in the bezel as well as the fact that there are 2 slots on the body that one could probably fit tritium vials into. As others have said, the long travel on the switch can be a small bother.

For this price point, both CR123 & RCR123 compatibility, and the biggest draw being the extremely compact form factor for a CR123 light, you really can't go wrong with this light. :thumbsup:

No, if anything I'd say it might be even more waterproof. The other o-ring is still there and you've added another one that is now squeezed between the two halves. Just don't tighten it up so much that the (added) o-ring bunches up and sticks out somewhere. That is easy to do.

I tried your suggested o-ring addition and I really like the way it makes the Cree rings go away. The beam is MUCH more pleasing to the eye now. Thanks for a great tip! It's really noticeable on the high power setting and at the distances that you suggested.

I'm a little late getting to this party, but another :thumbsup: here for Lite_me's simple, clever, and very effective o ring mod. Just tried it tonight, and the beam really is quite noticeably better---larger, smoother spot, with much less of an interior Cree ring surrounding it. And, visible throw is affected very little. :)

I am lucky to not have ring problems with the stock beam, and prefer the bigger spill and smaller hotspot with my stock beam.

HOWEVER, I am greatly dissapointed with the stock glow in the dark (GITD) material. I had purchased some cheap-o GITD o-rings, switches from that DX site to mess around with and they glow ALL NIGHT long when charged. The IncinDio literally glows for about 1 1/2 minuets.

Anyplace I can get better a glow ring or switch for the IncinDio?
