Ok having noticed that a standard Dorcy AAA circuit was roughly the same length as a 3 D Mag LED pill I had an idea....and you all know what happened next..hehe

With a Dremel I bored out the end of a Dorcy AAA just a little to help with contact then hand sanded the diameter of the Mag LED pill. It only took a small amount of sanding and the Mag pill will slide into the end of the Dorcy.

Next I removed the crappy Dorcy reflector and replaced it with a larger reflector that also had to be sanded to fit. Power it all with a Li-Ion AAA at 4.2 volts and you have a nice little light. It is basically the same size and shape of the standard Dorcy AAA however now with a much improved output......it gets hot quick however still a very cool and easy mod.

The included beamshot is with my Dorcy mod on the left and my Fenix P1 on the right. The Fenix is using standard 123 cells however still does well.

Did not really think of the cost however you are right as these little Mag pills are not cheap to start off with....I had a spare one however if done correctly this can be interchanged to swap out with the original Mag body if need be.

The only thing I noticed is when filing down the diameter of the Mag pill there is a little ridge up towards the top end of the casing. If you file this too much the pill will seperate at that spot.....it seems to be made into 2 sections at this little crimped section.

I have just installed a Fraen Optic inside the bezel and decided not to use the reflector. The optic fits a little better and I could not find a way to get a lens to fit with the reflector set up. This little light is now a pretty good thrower.
