Got a tiny gap with the sapphire lense, but not with the stock one. Tested it twice with the different lenses, with same reult. Thats why im guessing there is a tiny differnce between them. o-ring is in place and the pill is torqed in place as hard as i dare. Using the stock lense now, not because of a tiny micro gap, but i like the ar coating on the stock lense. Can't see any ar coating on the sapphire. Love the upgrade, and im 110% happy with the upgrade. But cant help scrutunizing my precious :)

I stuck with the stock lens too! Though I'm happy to have the sapphire one just in case :D

This has become my favorite EDC light currently. The design is just so beautiful!!

Tests are in from Sean. With a decent sample size, one 0.1mm retrofit washer will resolve ones with the button issue. The retrofit washer is to be placed on top of PCB ledge, right before you place the PCB. I sent out two washers in case for extra long buttons. All upgrade packages from here on will have modded buttons, with shaving of 0.1mm off the inner protrusion. Modded buttons will not affect appearance in any way.

Normal delivery time for airmail is about 10-14 days. European countries take slightly longer. If you haven't received the mail in three weeks time, please contact me.

!

I received my Ti host yesterday. I did a test fitting using the kit parts except I simply used the stock lens as it was already out. Everything
worked fine & I did play with both the brass retaining ring and pill tightness & found my best was with the pill just backed off a bit. Mind you…
the 1st time I put it together it worked fine. I just wanted to try the optimum settings for my sample. Since I lacked one of those neat Moddo or
Dark Sucks clips… I tried the entire Ku tail assembly that was on my Al host. It works perfectly and looks pretty good too. Now, it won't roll off
the night stand:D
Just want to thank Bruce for a great upgrade, especially for the price.

Thanks for the update! Now you make me feel really guilty for not making clips. Working on that now. Most likely it would be pre-orders since I don't want to overstock w/ too many clips. Need some recommendations for:
1. Wide (Darksucks) or narrower version
2. Stock length or longer length (Darksucks)

Re: !

It would be nice to get a clip like the Moddoo one. With the clip I would pick up an updated host + clip just and hunt for another LF2XT!

I'd like to see photos of these clips everyone is talking about… Darksucks variations, etc. And not my intent to make
you feel bad, Bruce! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

First picture is the narrower and shorter version, about the same length as stock clip. There will be no holes with perhaps laser etched "LF-2XT" across it. Second is by Darksucks shown by Nicrod, wider and longer. I actually like the first one.

Re: !

Bruce,

My preference would be something like the Moddoo clip. The Dark Sucks clip is really nice but just too big for the size of the LF2XT.

Agreed, that first clip looks better. Both are nice though. No engraving works for me too. Thanks much for the examples.

Re: !

I like both clips. If I had a choice, I'd choose the Moddoo clip. But owning the DS clip has been a joy.

Its not too stiff! Not too loose! Clips easily onto all kinds of material fabrics, and thicknesses.

Re: !

Looks like clips similar to Moddoo's in width and length is the consensus choice. There will be a thread for pre-orders. Just have to do some cost assessment first.

The price is going up soon. You can reserve a set at current price until the clips are ready for shipment.

Re: !

Great news - can't wait to see what you are able to put together. Hopefully the Ti is strong enough to withstand bending - that was always a problem with the Dark Sucks clips losing tension because a softer thinner Ti was used on those clips compared with the newer Prometheus clips.

Clips by Darksucks looked like they are 1 mm in thickness, which is actually thicker than Moddoo's, and from his site, they were made of 6Al/4V titanium. I doubt the thickness nor the material is the culprit for the tension loss. From the look of it, IMO it has more to do with the design. There seemed to be less reinforcement at spots where the bending force is exerting.

I'd love to purchase a clip as well!
Is the sales thread now available for it?
BTW-Received the titanium host. Beautiful work and my compliments!
