Does the lifepo4 exist anymore?

It seems that all the lithium iron phosphate batteries on eBay, etc are from 2013, as some sellers actually admit to. An exhaustive search only reveals a bunch of old and broken pages. Yet one "report" says that the batteries are expected to be on the increase. Headway is gone. I'm afraid the battery space ones are old, too.

I just want to find a good supplier of new single cells, like 3 - 20Ah so I can custom make an LED light - because they have no thermal issues and can be solar charged in the sun. Also, their lower voltage pairs good with the LEDs... No driver's required (at the expense of just a little efficiency).

Thanks in advance

Well, one good thing about LiFePO4 is that it is quite long-lived. So even four year old cells shouldn't be too much of a concern. Or at least not NEARLY as much of a concern as with 3.7V chemistries.

That's awesome, I've always wondered if a LED could do that (but I still think it's a trick) :grin

I bought some of the 18650s from that same page... Put 5 in series with a solar panel and learned that these batteries need PCB when in series. Pretty cool though as the 4 remaining were almost 5v each (and still work as individual LED lights to this day).
