I think that issue is exaggerated, clean it after shooting as you clean a gun and it will be clean next time you need it. also it depends on how long the light is, if it extends beyond the crown, it will fog up less than a light that does not extend.

I read somewhere that the lenses of flashlights for weapons are also lubricated with grease, a thin layer, so that carbon deposits do not eat into the glass and can be easily wiped and a new layer of lubricant applied. Does anyone actually use this trick?

I don't. No desire to diffuse the beam and cause it to not reach out quite as far as it actually can.

If you are in a situation where that is a problem, then that is not the main problem! I hope to never be in a situation where coating my wml with gsr is a problem. But if I ever am in that situation, I normally carry lens wipes for my eyeglasses that I can press into service to clean the wml lens with.

Reloading takes time, quality takes more steps than not.

Several years ago I picked up some .223 reload bullets, very good deal on them (50gr.)
One issue; they didn't boat tail, so they wouldn't sit well in my brass to reload.. slight problem.

Picked up an old 'new' in packaging, long taper punch.
Tapped my .223 brass to widen the mouth a couple thousandths via the flat section on my bench vise.
again, more steps but it worked great ~ fired as normal

In my state you can't have more than 10, and in my city you can't load more than 7 into 10 round mag, unless at the range. simply possessing a mag with capacity more than 10 is a crime. My glock .45 has 6 rounds+1. I figured if i can't have more than 7 no reason for double stack, so i got thin single stack glock 36.

The XD 45 ACP is 13 + 1. It's my hope that the sound of a single round being discharged would be enough to discourage any evil-doer that crosses my threshold. Perhaps having a discharge retainer adjacent to our bedroom would be a good idea.

I've always thought it'd be worthwhile to be able to reproduce the sound of a shotgun being racked over a whole-house intercom with the touch of a single button. Very few sounds are instantly recognized and respected.

The IR option is a gimmick, in my opinion. But I do like the rest of the light. Especially how it's activated. Reminds me of the switches on the older Inova weapon (handgun) lights. Good luck tracking down those nowadays! So, overall the Olight is a good option. Though on a compact pistol, with the bezel extending beyond the muzzle, not the best combo. With this light's output, it's best for outdoor use.

The Baldr mini fits the 19 like it was made for it, no protrusion out the front at all. My experience with it isn't extensive, a couple of years now. Mounted under a G19.4, carried appendix, in and outside the waistband on the hip and back every day of the year and through all activities. Not one failure for any function as of yet. Plenty of light to see in the toolshed or through the backyard to the toolshed. The green beam is solely for psychological purposes and does everything I've asked it to do despite the global criticism.

I don't go out much, hence the less than extensive experience, but at home it works out about the same as any other method of carry I employ.
