    Try a Surefire E2DL. Lots of holsters available and it seems to fit almost all of your criteria. If you want something a little smaller and with less lumens try the Surefire E1B.

    Seriously? I'm still using an original 6P (best guess, probably '91 or '92 vintage) with a Malkoff drop in on my rifle on a daily basis. It's got lots of battle scars and scratches on it. If it actually has collector value, should I replace it with a newer one?

    Suggestions for Multi-purpose Hunting Flashlight

    How much weight are you willing to carry? Your desire for 800+ lumens along with the ability to go to less than 10 lumens really limits your choices. Neither of my hunting lights meets all your criteria, but I carry a Malkoff Hound Dog XM-L and a Surefire E2D LED in my hunting bag.

    I'm afraid I can't offer any help on your search for a speed holster for a flashlight. However, my curiosity overwhelms me. What kind of work do you do that you'd carry a flashlight as a weapon? And how do you use a light as a weapon? Like a kubotan or yawara?

    Only buying one flashlight, which one?

    I've thought about this in terms of "If I could only have one flashlight....." For me, if I could only have ONE it would be my SureFire E2DL.
