    Test/review of Charger ISDT C4

When the ISDT C4 completes a discharge operation, does the display continue to show the cumulative mAh of the operation so I can see it later if I don't happen to be right there when it finishes? When it completes an analysis, does it show the mAh of the discharge, or of the final charge? I...

    Ultrafire WF-602C SSC U Bin AAA/10440

Overall I'm quite pleased with this light. It works out of the box exactly as it should, with none of the problems that earlier UltraFire WF-602c lights suffered from. (flawed switch action, low start-up voltage problem) The price is right, and I see little reason for the average person to buy...

Fighter Tiny Stainless Steel Cree - flawed jewel

This light has a couple of serious flaws. I wouldn't recommend it at all. The electronics are squeezed in the head between the reflector and a locking screw. There's a PCB in the head beneath the locking screw facing the battery tube. A ring trace on the PCB makes contact with the inner flat...

    Ultrafire WF-602C SSC U Bin AAA/10440

I got my WF-602c w/ SSC, and I'm very pleased with it. Beam is very bright and white, and fairly uniform. The beam has a nice balance of spot and side-spill. The light worked out of the box with Rayovac Hybrid cells. Ultrafire has fixed the problems with switch action that I observed with...

Cree Q5 bins...already? Can anyone be sure?

Re: Q5 from DX is visibly dimmer than Q2 Then it's probably even brighter without the Q5.

Cree Q5 bins...already? Can anyone be sure?

Re: Q5 from DX is visibly dimmer than Q2 A battery will measure 4.1-4.2 V when fully charged, but it spends much more of the discharge cycle at 3.7-3.6 V, or less under load. If I remember correctly, the EastwardYJ U2-style light has a boost circuit. Removing the circuit might make the light...

Cree Q5 bins...already? Can anyone be sure?

You really can't make that conclusion unless you have a way to factor out potential differences in LED Vf. Hook the LEDs up to a current regulated power supply, and then compare.

Fighter Tiny Stainless Steel Cree - flawed jewel

Thanks for the info, wakibaki. How exactly could you get the light to switch modes? Did you try an off-on-off-on sequence?

    DX U2-Clone battery draw

Put a low-value resistor (0.01 ohms) in series with the battery and measure the voltage across it. Again, I don't know if the circuit in your light is sensitive to the voltage drop that a typical ammeter will introduce.

    DX U2-Clone battery draw

Measuring current by putting an ammeter in series won't always give an accurate reading, because of the resistance added by the meter. In a direct drive light, that small amount of resistance will make a big difference in the current draw, due to the LED's steep I/V curve. It might not make...

    Ultrafire WF-602C SSC U Bin AAA/10440

Remove the battery tube. Stick a battery button-end first down into the head so that the button touches the positive contact. Bend a paperclip so that one end touches the negative contact in the head (where the end of the battery tube makes contact when turned on), and the other end touches...

    Ultrafire WF-602C SSC U Bin AAA/10440

If it's the same as the old Luxeon WF-602c, the spring slides out of the battery tube easily using a pair of needle-nose pliers.

    Ultrafire WF-602C SSC U Bin AAA/10440

I don't know why you'd conclude that. It could just as easily be a contact problem.
