    Looking for a Hunting Light

UPDATE and a bit of a review: Thanks to all who offered advice before.I am a flashlight noob (only other decent light is a little Olight i3s on my keychain), and this was a pretty major purchase for me. I picked up a Nitecore SRT7 bundle on amazon, that included a nitecore branded battery and...

What is the attraction of multiple-cell AA lights?

Re: What is the attraction of multiple-AA lights? I'm just a little ranty tonight, I'm sure it will all work out, and under normal circumstances, there wouldn't even be the time pressure. And someday, like you, I'll probably have a decent stash of 18650s to use. I live in a kind of mid sized...

What is the attraction of multiple-cell AA lights?

Re: What is the attraction of multiple-AA lights? I recently purchased my first quality light, and I have to say, sourcing 18650s at a decent price on short order has been a total drag. Came in a package with 1 18650, and since the day it arrived, I've been trying to add a couple more, without...

    18650 with prominent button?

Thanks for the tip. I went ahead and ordered a Nitecore, as it appeared to be the only 3400 with free 2 day shipping. 20 bucks, which stings a little, but so it goes. Strangely, the Panasonics I ordered from Fast Tech claim to be button tops. We'll see if they work, if they ever get here.

    18650 with prominent button?

So I'm having some trouble getting 18650s to work with my Nitecore SRT7. It appears that it needs a battery with a prominent button top. I picked up a couple Panasonic 3400s off amazon, and it seems that their tops are too flat to make contact. They also don't say panasonic on them anywhere...

    18650 Battery and Charger Recommendation

Re: Which 18650 to get? Out of curiosity, how long does fasttech typically take to get stuff to the US? The tracking on international stuff is pretty dodgy, and all I know is that they mailed me something last week.

    Best AAA led keychain flashlight?

That's what I've got too, and am pretty happy with it. The keychain bit broke after a month in my pocket, but I just put it on it's own split ring and it's been fine ever since. Plenty bright, ran it through the washing machine a few weeks ago with no ill effects. You might also look at the...

    18650 Battery and Charger Recommendation

Re: 18650 for Romisen I figured for an extra buck for the pair, why not.

    18650 Battery and Charger Recommendation

Re: 18650 for Romisen Thanks for the tip. I just ordered 2 protected 3400s from Fasttech. They are actually a whisker smaller than the Nitecore ones, and I figured the Nitecore ones ought to fit their own flashlights :)

    18650 Battery and Charger Recommendation

18650 for Nitecore SRT7 I just ordered an SRT 7 Bundle on Amazon that comes with a nitecore charger and one Nitecore 2600 mah battery. I'd like to get a pair of extra batteries, but am a total noob. What I have gleaned from reading this forum is that: 1. Not all batteries fit all lights. 2...

Which AAA light between these two?

I think I want to reconsider this statement, actually. I used the light last night to look for something outside, and really, for most purposes, medium is plenty (and at any distance, L is totally inadequate), so perhaps it makes sense to start on M. That said, I still would rather have a switch...

Which AAA light between these two?

I've had the Olight on my chain for about a month, and am totally happy except the interface. I'd really rather have a switch than a twist (though I'm not sure that any of the little AAA lights have a switch), but the order of modes is a pain in the butt, and it is pretty hard to consistently...

    Looking for a Hunting Light

So doing a little digging, I think I'm going to give the Srt7 a try. If I may,a couple follow ups on batteries I need a quick schooling on rechargeable 18650's: 1. I assume bigger is better, but I also see that dimensions aren't consistent. Will this hold 3400s? 2. I've seen a number of threads...

    Looking for a Hunting Light

That's a thought too. What we did last year was have one guy hold the light ehe the other shot. Worked pres tty well (we each got a couple)
