I'll hope to see how well it works when you get the lantern.

    Need new 6V lanterm

Well, actually nothing much. Most of them have been around for a while, except maybe the Garrity 4D rubber lantern. They're sold at fry's electronics for $7 without batteries. It has a smooth reflector and a nice switch. From the outside it looks like a pretty good light , but I don't know...

    Rigel, Nichia's new LED

Re: Rigel, Nichia\'s new LED Sorry for rambling/speculating : I wonder why we are not concentrating on the potential of the Rigel LED but instead harping about their registration system (I took the hassle of getting registered). While it lacks some power the luxeons have, the Rigel is in the...

    Who is the youngest flashaholic?

I'm thirteen but not exactly too sharp and my writing isn't all that good but I am interested in science and math (can't get past too much algebra/trigonometry/calculus though; its really confusing). I post to join the bandwagon of many thousand flashaholics . One thing's sure: flashlights are...

Just received my Photon Freedom - Great Light!

Can the white Freedom work with a CR2032 instead of 2xCR2016, its curcuit getting only three volts instead of six? It seems logical that this can work because nobody has complained that when the battery voltage gets below a certain level with use. With this configuration one gets a long lasting...

Help with selecting a emergency flashlight for car

Remember Lithium batteries are very important for emergency lights; alkalines don't work as well. Something that takes lithium 123's or AA's will work well (uk eled, legend lx, etc)

Mini Review - Nuwait Quantum III 3 Watt

This is Nuwai's first 3W Lux light, correct? It seems like they've done a good job .

    Lights you wish they'd make

Re: Lights you wish they\'d make Davidefromitaly, i believe that there's a converter called the micropuck used in TNC AA and N lights that can drive a luxeon at 200ma on one cell. But now one has to use two 1.2/1.5v cells and a converter to put 400ma into a luxeon. . It would be nice to see...

2004 - Year of the Luxeon!

I found this one in the B/S/T forum. The Nuwai Quantum-III is a nice-looking light. Edit: here are some luxeon bike lights: link different link

Suggestions on New Small Luxeon Lights?

I just had this idea of a small rechargable single aa light powering a luxeon (I or III) at 400-600ma. Of course heat sinking is a problem, plus the circuit probably doesn't exist. It's not supposed to be a keychain light, but a small luxeon light. Sorry for the hypothetical-ness of this idea.

    Lights you wish they'd make

Re: Lights you wish they\'d make The electronic (converter/regulator) is probably the biggest limiting factor because it's difficult to draw enough current from a single AA cell. Most 1AA converters today are made for use on an alkaline cell (draws less current due to alkaline cell's low...

    Lights you wish they'd make

Re: Lights you wish they\'d make I have thought of two lights that are pretty good ideas but have no idea of their practibility. 1) 21/23 12V batttery directly driving 3x3mm/5mm LEDs in a keychain light. Each LED should receive 4V the three leds should be as brighter than a dorcy AAA initially...

    Question for the experts

the three watt is a five watt with one die, from what I've heard. the difference between the five watt and the one watt is thicker wires and a different heat transfer-er because of current and heat issues, so the three watt is a one watt with the thicker wires and the different heat transfer-er...
