Davidefromitaly, i believe that there's a converter called the micropuck used in TNC AA and N lights that can drive a luxeon at 200ma on one cell. But now one has to use two 1.2/1.5v cells and a converter to put 400ma into a luxeon. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif.

It would be nice to see more lithium-ion/luxeon lights out there because their cell voltage (3.7V) matches LED forward voltages nicely. A light the size of a Streamlight Strion may be able to push 1000ma to a Luxeon III, provided that there's an regulator circut to maintain that level. At that level a lux III can match the output of most 2xCR123 incandescent lights. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
