How Often Do You Use 1000 Lumens and You're Most Used Levels

Total flashlight junkie....have all manner of brands, Surefire, Streamlight, Dereelight, Eagle Tac, Thrunight, etc. etc. Also have a full range of lumens and modes and such. Oddly enough the flashlight I use more often than any other, Streamlight Sidewinder with a max of a paltry 55 lumens. The...

    Review; Sunwayman D40A - A great light

While I am a flashlight "nut" like most/all of you, I do not have any engineering or technical background to do any sort of testing on brightness, run times, etc. But what I can tell you from the perspective of a regular guy, this flashligh absolutely ROCKS! I have a fairly decent collection...

    Sunwayman D40A - Another 4AA compact thrower

Re: New Sunwayman D40A - Another 4AA compact thrower It's been a long time since I have ordered a new light....with three kids money is tighter than it used to be. Plus my Surefire/Malkoff combo has served me well for many years. However, this light has me very intrigued so I mentioned it to...

    Mod SF KX3

Can you point me in the direction of someone that could mod a SF KX3 head? I am looking for a less blue colored beam that would ideally maintain the three level output and accept rechargeable batts. Might be a tall order but I am hoping it can be done. Thanks much!

    Can I use rechargeable batteries?

Just got a Surefire G3D for Christmas. It has the three level KX3 head. Can I use RCR123 batteries in it?

    Surefire G3D & rechargeable batteries

Can I use 3.6 volt protected cells in my new G3D fire/rescue multi level light? It has the three stage KX3 head. Thank you very much in advance.

    Union-made keychain lights?

If we are keeping pro-union and anti-union out of this thread, should we not in fairness remove post #9 which is very pro-union? Keep in mind that while anti-union sentiment can hurt the feelings of union members, espousing pro-union rhetoric can be just as annoying to people who prefer to...

Flashlights in TV shows and movies (Part 3)

Flipping channels last night, saw a flashlight and STOPPED on that show. It was an episode of Castle? Never watched the show but the detectives (or whatever) were using SF G3's!!! There was even a nice close up of the bezel for positive identification. Cool man.

    TSA triple scanned my G2!

On a recent trip back from Raleigh to Chicago, the TSA officer asked me if the flashlight in my bag was "dual purpose". I said, "No it's just a light." She then proceeded to scan my bag two more times before calling over a couple of guys to search my bag. They took out the offending light...

Finally Found a Use for Blue LEDs

Glad to help! I think you will really like the way it works especially if you use fluorescent fishing line like Stren blue. As far as spring time....man I cannot wait either! Sitting here in the Chicago area watching the snow pile up dreaming of the annual fishing trip to northern Wisconsin...

Finally Found a Use for Blue LEDs

Blue LEDs are GREAT for fishing at night. The blue light makes fluorescent lures and fishing line really POP! It must be the UV portion of the spectrum but since there is much more visible light coming from the blue LED, I find them far more useful than UV for night fishing. I have a UV light...

Help picking a special new light

You might want to get something that is engravable....have something special written on it. I have a few keepsakes (like pocket knives etc) with dates and/or names on them so that I always remember.

Taking an Arizona Vacation in 4 weeks, and I would like to look for Scorpions

Walmart sells a clip-on "headlamp" for the brim of a baseball cap that has three UV leds in it. It's great for fishing as it lights up flourescent lures and line really well. It's super cheap and runs forever on a couple of coin cells. Should do the trick looking for scorps.

Anyone have a prefered light setup for Bob Stroller?

Two-fish lock blocks are great for attaching lights to handlebars (or sidebars). I have used them on my bike and our Bob strollers with various lights (6P, U2, RiverRock, etc). As for an attention getting light, try the Inova 24/7. It has several modes including a couple of very attention...
